One of the most common scenarios that you will run into as part of browser automation is filling the input fields. In this tutorial, we will cover how to work with input text elements in Selenium Python using the SeleniumBase framework.
Test Scenario
In this test, we will be filling all the fields below and clicking the submit button to submit the contact form.

Test Solution
You can use the send_keys
command to add text to your input fields. See example below –
# fill in all the fields self.send_keys('.contact-name input', 'Test Name') self.send_keys('.contact-email input', 'test@mail.com') self.send_keys('.contact-phone input', '123456789') self.send_keys('.contact-message textarea', 'This is a test message')
SeleniumBase provides additional capabilities with the send_keys
command such as waiting for element to be visible, making sure the element is in the ready state, etc…
